I have a newer Ram with the Hemi. 14-15 highway, 11 around town, 8-9 towing.

It drives nice, lots of power, super comfortable. Its at the dealership right now getting suspension components replaced because of SUPER loud squeeking.

The service man told me "paid" work goes in front of warranty work. That wasn't very nice, seeing as its in on warranty. 4 days in the shop, and yet to have a phone call telling me when it will be done.

Track bar, as usual. Do the steering box brace and the track bar conversion kit shown here:

I was doing break in for a couple weeks while I was healing from my broken ankle. I drove loads of our stuff and the trucks did good at around 11-12 for the gas 3500 and about 16 for the hemi 1500. the other engines in the 1500 did around 14-16, but I averaged around 80mph for 6 1/2 hours everyday for 2 1/2 months. the best I got was in a tricked out WK that got around 18 .

if your looking for a truck that gets good milage get a chevy(stay away from the 4.3 they get less mpg than the v8s) they seam to be nicer on the fuel than dodges after they went to the magnum engines.

Are you serious? My friend has a 94 4.3 1500 4x4 and he gets 26mpg on the highway. Best V8 I have seen is 22mpg.

As for the Magnum's I towed a car on a carhauler from Chicago with a 98 5.2L extended cab at 70mph and averaged 13mpg. I used the same truck a few months earlier to haul 4 motorcycles to Indiana and I got around 11 mpg due to a catalytic converter that had yet to plug completely.

i got 14-16 in a 2wd 93 with a 4.3 and blazers and s10s suck gas to. I REALLY dont think he get 26mpg i call bullshit.

The v8 chevys ussually get like 16-18 real world even if people claim alot better dodge with 5.2s are probly 12-16 but ive heard of even less from more than one person. My 88 318 pre magnum got like 19 same exact truck with 5.2(318) magnum now gets 13ish. dodges like fuel

My '06 ram 1500 quad 4x4 gets 16-19 avg with the MDS hemi. I have seen 22+ on the highway. Towing an enclosed 3 snowmobile trailer I got 11 or so at 75mph.

you know to get mpg you divide miles traveled by gallons of gas used right. If the got 26 mpg everyone would be driving 4.3 trucks cuz thats better than most cars from 94.

Edit: sorry for the highjack I'm done now

my dads 99 chevy extended cab gets 14.7mpg all the way to Atlanta Georiga and back with 33"x12.5" and 4.8 V8.
Getting about 9mpg towing are 4place enclosed sled trailer that weighs loaded about 5,000 lbs.

My 95 ram gets 11.33333333333333333 No matter how I drive it w/ the 360, my dads 03 Silverodo w/t 4x4 with the 4800 gets 22mpg highway since he put synthetics in everything, guy next door gets 22+ with his cumins Ram 2500 but he has a Bullydog tuner.

You want mileage in a dodge, get a diesel.

Yeah, for that model year, I'd not expect anywhere near good mileage.

Years ago when I worked landscape, we had ~7 dodges with 318s or 360s. No difference in mileage really.

My two dodges both have been ~10 city 13 hwy, one a 360, one a V10, both 3/4 tons.

For those years, the 360 1/2 ton dodges were actually rated 1 mpg higher city I believe than the 318s, due to the smaller motors being overworked. Same with why the 360s didn't do better than the V10s in the 3/4s.

Well, through the first tank in my 96 ram 1500 extended cab, short box with the 360.

Got a solid 15 in the city. Haven't taken it on the highway yet.
