shit so then a transfer case off of a 700R4 won't work on a TH-400

buddy has a chevy truck with a TH-350 and a NP-203, he was wheeling and hit the tcase on a stump and cracked the TH350 housing (he has less then a 1000 miles on a $1400 rebuild) the crack is like 6 inches longs.

well he got a TH-400 and a NP 208 case that we were gonna use.

The 400 came from a motor home and the 208 came from a 87-88 3/4 chevy with a 700r4, i quess we should have done some more research before buying parts eh.......

Yep, My buddy and I just went through simular problems. I do not understand why they don't make it simple and have them all the same.

ps The length of the output veries from one to the other as well.

should be a book on this shit

I will swap the guts into a different 350 case for $125(he supplies a bare 350 case). Or $200 with me supplying the case.

how long do you think it would take you to swap them over for the $200......

being rochester hills is quite a drive and would hate to have to make it twice?
