No......................

Ok I read it. Yeah, so on and so forth, blah blah, it's been what the few have been screaming for 10 years. But the "greenies" will continue to win. And there a lots of reasons for this that I am not about to get into.

I absolutely agree with everything in that article. California power shortages could have been avoided. Then Governor Gray Davis enacted a power market that was fatally flawed. The environmental lobby has strangled the electric utilities to the point that they cannot expand the infrastructure. With a population that exploded in the 1980's and 1990's they have not been able to keep pace with that growth. Global warming is an easy excuse to blame whatever political target these freaks feel like. It's kinda like your little brother. As long as he is around, you can get away with murder.

It's a 6 year old article that makes claims but offers nothing as far as referances to back them up. Not much to discuss.

The article is a bit out-of-date, but most still holds true.

Global Warming is a crock of s**t. We may have SOME impact, but there are just too many other variables to consider. Personally, I like the warm summers and the semi-mild (unless you live in Michigan) winters.

Your article is dated. Global warming is happening to Mars too. But if you want to hear the other side of the Global warming is true I suggest watching "An Inconvient Truth" If you disagree with him the end has some very interesting "solutions"

um, no...CO2 emmissions from non-plant life on this planet has exponentially grown along the same lines as CO2 levels in the atmosphere.

I'm not a scientist and i dont have the facts but i have read and been lectured on climate change and even economics(the real reason for all the sudies people try to find global warming bullshit in) enough to know that I dont by it.

Yes it is the Gore movie. There are much better articles that you could have brought up to discuss with support though. This was a lost cause from the beginning.

Thought I'd do a little research...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Global_warming

Don't read it all...it's boring...but I found this hilarious

"Paleoclimatologist William Ruddiman has argued that human influence on the global climate began around 8,000 years ago with the start of forest clearing to provide land for agriculture and 5,000 years ago with the start of Asian rice irrigation.[49] He contends that forest clearing explains the rise in CO2 levels in the current interglacial that started 8,000 years ago...Ruddiman argues that without these effects, the Earth would be nearly 2 C (3.6 F) cooler and "well on the way" to a new ice age."

So now we get to blame the Asian rice farmers.

So what are your reasons for not believing in global warming? The increase in temperature is documented. We have increased 1 degree in the last century. While this may not seem like much, the earth has been around for 5,000,000 years. If the temperature of the planet were to increase at 1 degree/century - you can do the math - we wouldnt be here.

A simple example of our climate change is the coral reefs. Corals can only live in a set temperature range that may not fluctuate more than 2-3 degrees in high temp. If the temp goes too high, "bleaching" occurs. The reports of coral bleaching have been astronomical in the past few years and the reefs are dying. Without reefs, we have no homes for breeding fish in the ocean as many species use the reefs in the fry cycle of their lives. Without these fish, the ecosystem is thrown off and other fish species suffer. Then it goes up the food chain.

If you want to be schooled on global warming, with adequate time, I can provide you with primary scientific articles on the subject as I am a scientist and a former marine biologist.

Before you mention it, it is true that much science is funded by interest groups. One may say that that funding skews results o scientific data toward a certain end. But "quality" journals that publish good data are peer reviewed and proven scientifically.

Why do you think the Bush administrations EPA does not want to have to regulate CO2 emissions form cars? They are going to find that it is a pollutant and and have to admit to the effect it is having in our world.

Jesse

I am still trying to figure out why 30 years ago we were going into the next ice age if global warming has been happening for the last 8 millennia.

Psst. Al Gore is an ID10T if you haven't heard shmler but don't tell anyone or you liberals might get mad........................................

And we have temperature data that goes back, oh at least a billion years right? Oh, yeah, they only started keeping track of that in the 1880's for most of the world. It's called a cycle. It gets hot, then it gets cold, then it gets hot, then it gets cold. Go back and read some different non-biased analysis of the history of the planet. Like Spaz said, 30-40 years ago we were in iminent danger of becoming peoplecicles because of the impending ice age. Now it is global warming. It's nothing but political bullshit posturing to convince people to fund some whacko's pet project with tax money.
