Yeah, someone put a lot of time and welding rod on this one. I think the fronts could clear 44s! Those tires are 36s on there now.

Sprung over, with new 2.5 inch BDS lift. Its a bit bigger than I would like. I had to air the tires down to the rims to fit it in.

Dwarfs the smuf 40 with 4 inch and 35s...

Got a locker in the rear. powersteering. blah blah, May part it may keep it. Have to marinate on it a while.

Id take 2K, Yes its steep but there is at least that in parts for other 40 owners.

What I know. Its got an assembled title in MI, listed as a 1975, but I dont think that is accurate.
As noted it has early style front doors. but rear ambi doors. and short jump seats. The hard top keeps the water out as far as I know. It would be nothing better than a trail hard top. Since owning 5 FJ40s over the years I get picky on describing parts. If its not super clean then its for a trail rig. That way theres no hard feelings.

Where do I come up with 2K. Follow me here if I were to part it or if you were. The prices here are lower than what you could probably get from ebay or the mud board. I would be looking to part it quick and get my garage open.

Short rear Jump seats. Very good shape. $250.00
Hard top with ambi doors 200.00
2F 4 speed and transfer 400.00 for all three Motor has Weber carb.
36x 14.50 x 15 swampers on steel wheels, Say 250.00 1/4 life left.
Front seats, buckets nice shape with original lap belts, 100.00
Red "T" steering wheel. 50.00 I think these only came on 1973 models.
Sprung over front and rear axles. cut and turned, rear is welded. 500.00 for both.
Damn near new BDS 2.5 inch lift springs with poly bushings, BDS want like 800 for the kit. Sell the springs for 400.00

That right there puts you at 2150.00 and you still have a tub, front doors and all hardware, all the knobs and interior pieces, windshield, drive shafts, rear heater, rear bumperettes, wiper motor, hood, bib, windscreen all to part out for 20 bucks here and there.

Overall the rig is a trail rig nothing more. The Driver spring hanger is rotted out. its there and straight but needs attention.... There is alot of bondo on the body. The body looks fine from 10 feet but it is NOT an OEM original mint shape anything.

The interior is in good shape, most likely from having the hard top on it. All the glass is there. and in good shape.

I was not able to get it started last week, I could smell gas, but I dont think its getting spark, I have to look into it more. It ran fine 2 weeks ago when I got it. drove it off the trailer and down the block. then pulled it into the garage. The transfer case is struck in Low right now. Dont know what the problem is again I havent spent but 30 mins messing with this. When running the engine was pretty smooth, my other 40 right now has an OEM carb, and I know nothing about webers.

Like I said, A little work and it would probably be a nice trail rig. the hard work has been done. It just needs TLC. It has a full cage which is welded into the floor and tied into the front bumper. Some spots in the floor have been replaced. Again read this is not a mint by anymeans 40.

I am trying to be as honest as possible.

If your interested in it for 2K shoot me a PM. I can give you an address to come see it. I would prefer you look it over versus me sending 500 photos of shit you dont want to see.

Good for a trail rig after a little bit of work, definitely!

[QUOTE=FineWynsFJ40;525113]You also forgot to mention that the bezel is upside down

yeah yeah, The new owner can part that out first or flip it.

Forgot to mention, It has no ingnition cylinder. Basically any key can turn it over.

I am going to post it around if it doesnt go in a week or two. Fire up the compressor and start tearing it down.

Front heater works both speeds, hazzards work, turn signals and stop lights. etc.
