Have you seen the interiot in a GMT900 truck? They blow away any other truck interior right now. Based on your comments, I'm pretty sure you've not even opened the door of a 2007 Chevy, let alone towed with one.

Dodge for sure. Also if you get the Big Horn edition you can add a Y at the end of it and it would read BIG HORNY edition.

your right, i havent towed with a 07 chevy, i drive cummins, so i have no reason to even glance at a gas 07 chevy. but if everyone else can claim dodges suck due to a bad trans rap from 15 yrs ago, then i can base my experience from the last 5 yrs to say chevy interiors are cheap pieces of crap. theres another reason not to get the chevy, its the 1st year of the new style. 1st year generally = problems.

Yes, and not to mention how ugly the new chevs are. You will get about the same mpg in either. I had a chevy with the 5.3 what a dog, I had it on the beach down south and had to use low lock. And that was their z71 package, what a joke. My Dodge is by far the sweetest fastest and most poerful truck I have ever owned.

Oops, my bad. Sorry. I retract my statement.

As far as the bad trans rap being 15 years old, we just had KillerB rebuild my son in law's 01 with 80K on it.

First year doesn't always = problems. Our '07 Suburban is flawless after 10 months and 29,000 miles. I have not yet towed with a GMT900 truck, but I've hauled a bed full of parts and also towed with 3 GMT900 Avalanches and the Suburban. The interior thing is just stupid. Go sit in a new Chevy and and open your eyes. Dodge interiors are about the biggest pieces of shit on the market right now.

The last Dodge I drove was a 1500 Megacab with a Hemi. That thing couldn't get out of its own way empty.

I agree, the new Chevy's are ugly, just like the newer Dakota's they copied off of. BTW, I think SwampJeep is actually looking at the GMC, imo a much nicer looking vehicle than the Chevy or the Dodge.

Ok so here is my take on this.

I drive a 2006 mega cab diesel... so i am slightly biased, but my 5 previous trucks were GM

He is leasing this truck, therefore at the end of 3 years he is turning it in... therefore the questionable trans is out of the question...

In terms of interiors, i like my dodge a lot better than the new gm. As a mechanical engineer, i spent a lot of time studying the materials and what not in the dash and the gm is cheaply made, while the dodge is not pretty, the dash is solid...

As for power, the hemi makes more but gets worse mileage... i drive a diesel, and therefore would never buy a dirtymax... and for anyone who thinks a duramaxipad is better than a cummins, lets run umm...

Dodge's tranny problems are way more current than just 15 years ago. My 2004.5 Cummins with the 48re is starting to go at 88,800 miles. My '96 ZJ died at 80,000 miles. I guess the newer Dodge trannies are designed better, but I don't have any personal experience with them. I just hope mine dies completely before the 100k warranty expires.

its all on how you treat the trannys. my fathers went out on his 98 gmc with 80,000 miles.. my dodge lasted 220000 miles. but i change the fluid alot. chevy does get better mpg, but dodge seems to tow alot better. more stable. more capaible of towing.

I towed with a 2007 Chevy 5.3 to KY and back this past weekend. Got about 12 MPG. Towed great, but was a little underpowered in the mountains....just had to down shift a lot.

I would take the Dodge. I learned my lesson regarding small engines in full-size trucks with the first new Ram I bought (97 Club Cab, 6' box, 318). I bought my V10 a lear later.

i believe if you want a light duty truck you should go with a chevy. they get better mileage.

but if you want a heavy duty truck go with the dodge with a cummins. we have a 3500 mega and we get 17 mpg. which is pretty good for something that size.
