Welcome,

I get out to the Springs a couple times a year...wish it was more often. One day I hope to live in Estes Park or something comparable

I live in Manchester. Travel to Aspen every summer for a week. The hotel manager at the Molly Gibson hotel is from Jackson too.

Don't suppose you are near Aspen though.......

welcome,
Hi Grifter,

Littleton is near Denver on the "Front Range", which is the eastern part of the Rockies where all the big cities are. It's about a 6-hour drive from me. I'm in the Ridgway/Ouray/Telluride area, which is in the Southwestern part of the state on the "Western Slope", and is MUCH less populated. In my opinion, the scenery here is the best in Colorado (if not the entire West), and is DEFINITELY worth the trip. Plus, it's only about a 3-hour drive to Moab. When my wife and I still lived in MI, we vacationed throughout the West each year. SW Colorado was always our favorite area. That's why we moved here. Let me know if you decide to check it out. I'll show you around, and I'll even let you buy the first round.

Well, I'm not real close to Aspen. It's probably about a 4-hour drive. I've only been there once...nice town, but too crowded for me.

Leadville? Been there a few times. Drank at the old ass hotel in town. Nice place.

Best friend from college lives in Avon. I go out there once a year for a couple weeks. He worked at the marriot in vail, then the antlers at streamside, now it's the city of Avon. He has a condo where they're going to put the new gondola in that goes to Beaver Creek.

I'm jealous as hell. If I didn't have a pension, I would've been out there 9 years ago.

They have INCREDIBLE wheeling out there. Scary shit, and hours on the same trail. You are lucky.
