feedback on dakotas

just wondering what everyone thinks of dakotas, a 99 in particular with a 5.2 and 4x4. what problems can i expect? i have heard bad things about their trannys, is this true? mpg?

trannies are not as bad as everyone seems to think. it's a 727 with an O.D. unit hung off the back and computer controls. dodge tended to not put enough of a cooler on them though so they would run hot towing and fail.

5.2s are a good motor it will need intake gaskets at some point in time there is a lower plate that blows out and sucks in oil and kinda makes you think the motor is toast if you dont know about the leak issue.

Add a big trans cooler and everything is perdy cool. I know a guy that tows a small 5th wheel with his out to Oregon 2 times a year, and Iowa once a year. He has an aftermarket cooler with a separate electric fan on it.
