Default 5 speed to auto

My dad has a 91 k1500 with a 350 and a 5 speed, it is a 4 wheel drive.
Question is, what all needs to be changed to go to a 700r4? just the tranny and the coulomb? or do ya have to change the transfer case too?? What about the cross member?

I am not sure about what all is involved but you could go with a floor shifter and use the same hole.

700r4 4x4 version with proper adaptor to transfer case
flexplate for starter
wiring harness from transmission to computer for lock up and overdrive
replacement prom for automatic transmission for in the computer
park/neutral switch and wiring harness portion to computer

There are ways around the computer issues as there are several companies that make stand alone controllers and wiring harnesses. I think for safety reasons you would still want the park/ neutral safety switch though. It would probably be best if you had a complete donor vehicle to make the swap.
