Default HITCH for Jeep

Here's a nice and fairly beefy hitch made by Mopar. Came off a newer Cherokee, in superb condition. See pics. Hey, you even get a cool sticker with it! LOL

All you'll need is the nut plate thing that goes inside your frame. I have one for the drivers side but you'll need one for the passenger. As easy as welding a few nuts to some sheet metal.

$160.00 Or Best

What kind of Cherokee did it come off of? Grand or XJ? $160 seems a bit high of a used hitch from what I have found doing a little search on the net. New ones were running from $110 to $150 for Class III and IV

Came off an XJ. I was wondering around TSC today and saw new ones for about 199.00 that didn't seem quite as well built, by Reece. I know I wasn't using all of the holes to bolt it up, so I am thinking that is can probably be mounted on a variety of vehicles. Make an offer.

Is this 100% bolt on? And how did you lose the passengers nut plate? How did you have it installed without it?

I believe all XJ's should already have a nut strip on the passenger side as that is how the exhaust is bolted on.

I think that only in my XJ 22 is correct. It looked that by removing it I would be taking other things off, like my exhaust and heat shield around the gas tank.

So, that is probably the case. Maybe you don't need one! Yeah, its bolt on, to answer your question.
