The ancient myth says otherwise.......

The origional hare once was a bird until Eostre the Goddess of Spring and new beginnings gave the particular bird 4 legs. the myth states The first hare was able to still lay eggs and was considered a sacred animal that would come around in the spring time. the children of the time would decorate the eggs to show appreciation to the "Easter bunny."

That in an "egg shell" is where Easter eggs came from.
