Default dana 60/70 ID

Someone know how i can tell the difference, visually, between the Dana 60 and 70 front axles. 2003 Ram 2500 hemi engine. Need to order parts for this weekend.

There is no Dana 70 front.


2003 was the first year for the DR HD's, so I think that should be an AAM 925 front axle.

they are asking 60 or 70 when i order ball joints
i will research more on this.

Who are "they"?


They are probably looking up the 4500lb and 8800lb GVWR D60's. I'm sure you know where to look for the GVWR on your truck if it in fact has a D60 front.

The quick way to tell if you have an AAM 925 is to look and see if the front axle is high-pinion. If it is, that's what you have. If its LP, you have a D60.
