So your answer is "Christian"?
Good answer

You'd be surprised how many, when asked would respond, Catholic or Luthern, Baptist. These would be your "Denomination"

No, it's not, it's actually perfectly accurate.

Yes, some follow him more closely than others.

No, most definitely not.

well... I was kinda messing with you, like Paul said, there are different denominations within christendom, but all supposedly follow Christ. One in particular who I personally don't believe they follow Jesus, is the jehovah's witnesses. They don't actually think he was God, just a nice prophet.

guess what i am saying is its not in mans most natural state not to have something they believe in. one tribe may belive in the sacredness of the ox that tills their land the next may kill the ox to supplement their diet..the basics of life creating belief systems that create dissention.... call it "religion" or call it "lack there of" fact is people still die for what they "believe"

hell the warlords on the border of afghanistan and pakistan wage war with their neighbors namely due to who owns what land their all muslim at the core but they fight over their "rights" to the border crossing wages..

so how would it be better without the religions...

people are gonna kill and fight either way..i'd like to think that maybe with some sort of religious backing that peple might tend to be more moral.. although thats not normally the case specific examples include the crusades..

Dave Kerwin: Brother i applaud your bravery at taking the light of Christ into this world we call the internet and more specifically into this world where those you speak too actually know you name, you risk alot and that i applaud. and you should know your not the only one around here who thinks like you do. I grew up in a Christian home and i have taken a trip into the Army, a couple tours to foreign lands and combat and three years in college now to figure out that i think evolution is a bloody farse and that Christ is the answer that will guide how i raise my kids and how i lead my life. Although i dont think the stupid bunny or santa are so serious that we need to argue over their worth for 13 pages worth of interent. there are by far many more serious issues at hand that need to attn of the family of Christ.

keep at it brother, i am nowehere near as educated in the biblical sense as you seem to be.. but i enjoy reading and learning from your responses to those that oppose your religious outlook here..

I'm with Michaiah. If your kids know you have always told them the truth, then they will never question you. A parent can simply ask the child, have I ever lied to you? No, so why would I now? Trust can't exist on the same plane as lies.

But I also think someone can have an easter egg hunt and not be sacreligious. The light of the day should shine on an empty tomb, not a basket of candy.

I think children should question what their parents tell them. If they don't ever question what they are told, they will most likely become mindless followers who do the bidding of others without question.

Let them think for themselves.

Then shame on the parents that mislead their children. And if you think this world would be a better place the LESS children trust their parents, then I don't know what to say. Get real.

For fukc sakes..... I'm gonna be quite blunt here.......

How is it difference in telling your kid there is an Easter Bunny, Santa Clause, Tooth Fairy, etc, and telling them about Jesus Christ. We cuold argue about the "spirit" of each and how they each effects us in our different faiths. We can argue that there was a Christopher Kringle or a St. Nicholas, just as the Non-Christians can talk about the Easter Bunny, Mother Nature, Father Time, and the Tooth Fairy.

Non of these, above mentioned, people would exist today if it wasn't for the stories, tales, fables, and faith in what we believe, keeping them alive.

I grew up with all of the above mentioned "spirits" and my parents never "Told me the truth" I don't look at them any different today then when I was a child. I even have more respect and understanding for the fact that they raised me Catholic and educated me about other cultures, and their ways, and their traditions!

I feel sorry for those that are so closed minded that they are afraid to learn about Buddism, Jewdiasm, Islam, Confucianism, Taoism, Bahá'í, Shinto, Hinduism, Vodun, etc!

Without being a sheep and doing what the others have taught you, how do you know what you believe is the truth? What have you learned about religions, yourself, through experiences? (rehtorical questions)
