Is the Bunny a problum for you?

I seen in another post that someone wishes to take the Bunny out of Easter!
WHY? is it wrong to have a celebration for children on the re-birth of christ? Why would you want to take that away? I only see that you would need to teach children as they grow the real meaning behind the holiday.. same with Christmas..

and even if you do not belive in Christ why not go along with it if it brings a smile on a child?

That post just bothered me..

Hm, I haven't seen the other post, but it seems to me that Easter has turned to be more about the Easter Bunny and baskets filled with goodies instead of actually Christ and the Resurrection.

Kinda like CHRISTmas and mere presents.

Both kinda irritate me, but i'm a hypocrite and plan on making an Easter Basket and an Easter Egg hunt for some kiddies

Easter Bunny needs to die, why lie to our children and make up a fairy tale about something that has NOTHING to do with the reason we celebrate? We celebrate because Jesus did not stay in the grave, he conquered death, and thereby conquered our sins. He rose from the dead, so we too will rise. Why cloud that with some random bunny? It is wrong IMO. I for one, and not gonna lie to my kid about jolly santa and fat rabbit.

I am, I'm mad!

But then again my church is having an easter egg hunt on saturday, so I guess I can't be too crazy about it :)

Personally, I just despise the whole thing because I think it takes the light off of the king of the universe and onto an idol.

It was a joke. It goes around every year this time in emails, on message boards, and thru messengers.

I am sure no one wanted to offend anyone

But why lie to them, and later tell them the truth?

I for one don't want my kid to celebrate a lie, regardless of if it makes them smile. They can smile just as big celebrating the real deal. "Guess what little Timmy, you don't have to die in your sins because Jesus did it for you. No Timmy, you are not getting a chocolate rabbit." See.. why would that not put a smile on a kid?

Why? A two year old will not understand the story of Christ. But you have bright eggs for them to find with candy in them they will understand that there is a reason to rejoice on that day. And what makes adults smile more then to see the joy in a child's eye? and what would god want more then to have his children, young and old to be happy on these holidays? And most even if they do not belive enjoy these holidays... so when there children get older and learn the reasons why we celibrate these holidays may join in what you also belive in.

i·dol (īd'l) Pronunciation Key
n.

An image used as an object of worship.
A false god.
One that is adored, often blindly or excessively.
Something visible but without substance.

Seems that definition could be viewed by many to cover alot of figures. Albeit different figures for different religious or spiritual view points.

Dude, your whole religion is a fairy tale. All religion is fairy tales. Celebrating 'Christmas' on Dec 25th is a fairy tale to try to eliminate paganism by stealing their holidays and overlaying your own on top of it.

Kids believe in the easter bunny and santa claus based on their faith that they are real and good. You believe in your book because of your faith that it is real and good.

E g g s

Of all the symbols associated with Easter the egg, the symbol of fertility and new life, is the most identifiable. The customs and traditions of using eggs have been associated with Easter for centuries
Originally Easter eggs were painted with bright colors to represent the sunlight of spring and were used in Easter-egg rolling contests or given as gifts. After they were colored and etched with various designs the eggs were exchanged by lovers and romantic admirers, much the same as valentines. In medieval time eggs were traditionally given at Easter to the servants. In Germany eggs were given to children along with other Easter gifts

Why do you think that a two year old cannot understand Jesus?

If a two year old can believe in a gigantic rabbit and a jolly santa, why would the story of Jesus be beyond their comprehension?
