Time to be heard by the Forest service!

I wanted to let everyone know that the Forest service will be conducting interviews with riders out on the trails & trail heads within the national forests. I was told the forest service tried this a couple years back and nobody would take the time to offer comments about the wants and needs of the users.
The Forest service bases their budget and trails on the wants and needs of its users. so don't be shy they want you to speak up and be heard. so if you see any Forest service personel in the process of riding stop and say Hi. it could be the best thing you do for all of us.

by the way there going to be doing interviews for the next coming year so keep your eyes open.

How will someone know who they are? Will they be parked and knowingly aproachable? Or perhaps driving and just "expecting" some to stop and talk.

I never have a problem talking to "da man" on the trails, it hopefully gives a good impression of who we are.

I didn't get details as to if they will have a sign or anything to get your attension. the idea here I think is to see how interested YOU as a user is to see what they are doing out there.

They'll probably be in one of their lima-bean green trucks parked at an orv trailhead, hiking trailhead, or parked on the side of a two track.

When you find one, CALL EVERYONE YOU KNOW!
Get everyone to inundate them with "information" on what we want -- while they're there. Sounds like they'll be moving around.

So they are hitting the trails just in time to talk to the snowmobilers?

I picked up the mapping DVD from NOHVCC thats been talked about in a couple of the mags. You can get it here: http://www.nohvcc.org/IMAGES/prgps.asp

It talks about this being done by the US Forest Service. It sounds like this is our big chance to get some trails we want. They siad they will be updating every year.

I only browsed through some of the DVD so far. It sounds like they want the GPS tracks if you can give them to them.

I will update after I finish watching if much different.

I didn't get a chance to finish watching the DVD today. I should have time when I get home in the AM.
