Default dual cases

Who all is running dual cases? What size tires and what gearing in each case?

I'm running 35s and trying to decide if I want 2.8/2.8 or 2.8/4.0 for a combo. The 2.8/4.0 seems more versatile, but I'm not sure I'd ever need 2.8x4.0 low range around here. I do plan to travel around and hit more rocks, but I'll probably spend most of my time trail riding. Thanks.

Its 2.28, not 2.8.

I run Duals with 36" swamper SXs, 2.28 in each case, 4.88 axle gears, 22RE, and L52 5 speed trans. 100:1 overall.

I don't see a need for what I've run for lower gears in the rear case. There were a few spots in Tellico it'd have been nice, but I wasn't exactly hurting for gearing. My engine doesn't idle as good as it should, either.

I'd start with the duals, then go from there.

Consider if you want a clocked case, too. I wish the adapters would have been out when I got my doubler, I would have clocked the rear case upwards.

Next truck will get a single case with 4.0 gears, if I can still find them.

I actually knew that. I'm running on zero sleep and left out the 2 in 2.28.

My plan was to keep the gearing as is this season and possibly upgrade next winter. Case won't be clocked for now, but I'm not about to tear down the trans/case/case assembly to clock it right now. Again, something to consider over the winter.

Thanks for the reply.
