Default 2.5"-3" Driveshaft with a slip yoke in the shaft, 4 ft. minimum

The cheaper the better, the higher the price the longer the wait untill I can come and get it. I don't really care if the ends are buggered up at all, as long as the shaft is straight. Prefer it to be about 2.5"-3" in diameter, not much bigger or smaller.

I'll be willing to pick up.

If its still in my storage unit in Highland, you can get it tonight. I will stop there on the way home.

That one I have doesn't have a slip in the shaft. It has a slip yoke for the TC.

yeah, I thought I put the "slip" part in the title before but I looked again and apparently I didn't.

I may end up just buying one from the junkyard next paycheck and eating the cost.

edited to allow for a slightly higher price.

i have a few smaller shafts with the slip splines in the center, they extend and contract a few inches... if thats what yer lookin for... they are kinda short so you MAY need to extend them, not sure. wont be able to measure them until next weekend

such as?
(no those are not my shafts, yahoo image)

well here is my dilema,

I went to a driveshaft shop and talked to the gy about my situation and he told me that I should go to a junkyard and get alot of the hardware (slip yoke, CV's etc.) because it wold be cheaper. So I went and picked up an XJ front D/S (because it had everything I needed), I figured just flip it around and run it on the rear.

The plan was to lengthen the D/S out to 4', exactly what I need, but the guy refused to do it becase the shaft was too small diameter and would fly apart, he could go to a larger shaft but didn't want to. So now I'm looking for a larger diameter, 4' driveshaft that I can slap the CV on the end and be good to go.

either way I'm using the CV on the end because then I don't have to shim my axle. So I need a 4 ft, larger diameter shaft that I can cut down and re-weld the CV on the end and a 1310 yoke (if it doesn't have one already) on the other end.

Never heard of this before. How much would it cost and is it possible to really get all this crap from a junkyard? Let me know what shaft you end up using, I'm interested in fixing my Jeep for now.

Well I blew $150 on 2 complete XJ shafts and 1/2 an explorer shaft with the CV on the end. the other XJ shaft I'm combining with the Explorer CV to run CV's on each end, those will be for the front, and I have plenty to work with.

Normally he said he charges about $75 a shaft but cut me a break (I'm in there alot), I would offer about $50 at the junkyard because I need to cut it up.

Basically I'm looking for a fullsize truck rear driveshaft (at least 4 ft long) with a slip yoke in the shaft. Thats all I really need.
