Last Friday was worse for my commute. Neighbor called me to let me know of the 4 roll overs on Grange Hall he saw on his commute, advising me to take an alternate route.

I couldn't even get to Fish Lake Road due to the road being closed for recovery/rescue operations just east of Fenton...

I ended up going down Andersonville to Pontiac, and made it in nearly the same time as my normal commute. Had some folks tailgating, but oddly enough they backed off when I blipped the gas, and got the miata sideways at 35-40 mph... :tonka:

I got to play in the ditch south of White Lake road this morning thanks to a E-350 in front of me who didn't understand how to maintain a safe following distance from the guy in front of him. I figured I could hit him or hit the fence. Missed the fence by about an inch, but at least it wouldn't have sued me if I hit it! It was kinda icy on 23, But hey, it never occurs to these asshats to slow down and drive safe!

3 spinouts on I-96 heading to G.R. today from Detroit. One guy went towards the overpass beams, hit the guard rail and spun and had his front wheels on the guardrail looking dead ahead at the cement supports for the overpass, lucky s.o.b.

agreed. However the problem with rush hour traffic on ANY of the highways in the metro detroit area is that if you follow at the recommended distance you would have to sit still and just let everyone in front of you.

I got the fun of driving to work on I 94 west of Chelsea. I see the highway from my yard so I make a beeline over to the next road so as to miss traffic on deadmans curve. well it was still plugged up even past the curve today. I got on at Peirce road and when I finally made it over the hill at 15 mph there was a truck that been removed from the ditch all wadded up. it was sitting waiting to be hauled away. no people or cops and the idiots were stopping and staring at the wreck...pitterful. I was 10 minutes to go about 2 miles from exit to the other.

I didn't start out that close. Guess he had better grip than me he managed to stop, I just slid along thinking "well, this sucks"

Besides, I'm a professional driver, and therefore absolutely above any criticism of my mad driving skillz. Hell, at least I got it off the road.

this happens all the time, especially with the asshats in the 4x4's that don't know how to respect them. sure you can go, because you have 4 wheels with traction, but regardless of how many wheels have traction it's not the same senario when you need to hit the brakes.

If you get stuck, you can just have your big brother come pull you out with his awesome buggy
