I have DirectTV.

It's better than Comcast.

I have had Charter for about a year now and over the last 5 months they have raised my rates 3 times. Not sure how the rate hikes are with Dish.

Had DirecTV a couple years ago and had issues with the picture when the weather was bad. Not sure if the guy who installed it screwed up...have had charter since then and ahve been happy. Have Cable/Internet/Phone and pay $100 a month total.

I have never had dish, but one thing that always bugged me was either paying for equipment that I can't really use/sell later easily, and/or not having enough equipment for all of the homes' TV's and/or early termination fees.

That being said. The only reason I have charter, is the broadband (and they have a franchise agreement with Fenton elminating any local competition)

CHARTER SUCKS!!!
I had cable service, phone, and internet with them. If you ever need to talk to anyone FORGET IT. The only people you can get on the phone are from the phillipines. They barely speak english, you can't understand a word they're saying, they can't understand MOST of what you're saying. They signed me up for some kind of monthly thing that I NEVER AUTHORIZED! raised my rates every 2 to 3 months and tried DOUBLE charging me on 3 seperate occasions. I told them where to go and I have Direct TV now and love it!.

We are happy with our comcast. We have them for high speed internet and digital HD cable.

My brother has directTV, I have more HD channels than he does at the moment.

One thing I like on cable is On Demand, which we use a lot. Especially for lots of the kids sprout and noggin shows. There's a ton on there for free, and its also the pay movies are cheaper/easier than renting at blockbuster (FOr us, we never know if we'll have time for a movie or not, having a little toddler in the house. Last weekend we wanted the illusionist on there, was damn convenient)..

Both are pretty similar. Whatever your preference, really.

Have had Direct TV for about 5-6 years now, my rate has been very stable the entire time. The picture quality is much better than the cable offered here (yes it's digital, no it's not comcast..) but maybe 4-5 times a year when the weather is real bad I will lose a signal for a while.

I'm a die hard Steeler football fan so it's all about NFL ticket for me.

But everyone I know has Comcast of course around here Comcast is like Google, it's taking over the world. Anyone that I know that has any type of satellite dish has done nothing but complain about it in bad weather, which kinda defeats the purpose because thats the only time I would watch it, when I'm stuck inside.
