Default need opinions... should i trade?

Well I have a serious inquiry for a trade on my CJ8

I think most of you know about my Jeep, its have been a 2 year build or so. A lot of time and blood in it.

The trade would be for this
93 laredo 145k v8 np231
RE LA - 7.5"F, 4.5"+2"boost R
Black diamond shox (6" TJ application)
36" Iroks - 15" Eagle alloys
Front HP30 - lockrite - 4.88's
Rear 8.8 - spool - 4.88's - all new brakes
power everything (not sure if that is good or bad)
He can run it up to about 70 mph on the highway

You have a lot of work, sweat, blood and money into yours, Personally I would not, Yours to me would be a more capable rig, IMO to me I dont see any advantages other then comfort. The unibody will get twisted to hell one day and then your starting all over... with yours just weld on a new panel but that is a nice rig.

Looks like a nice grocery getter, but you know my opinion........stick with the CJ. Hell, you're almost done. Don't give up now.

I would say no. I'm not a big fan of trading my problems for someone else's. You know what you need to do to yours to make it work, who knows what this needs.

Plus, it's a 93. That's getting to be 12 years old. 145K on the V8 means it ain't a spring chicken, still running a 231, does it need a chain, and it looks tall to fit those meets which means it'll be a little tippier than your Scrambler.

the scrambler is a 1 of a kind that you should keep for life.
The grand needs better axles and wont last as long. Too much to break on the grand.

I think th 8.8 in the rear should be fine.

The D30 would have to go.

I don't think his has many problems.... he was going to drive it about 200 miles for me to look at it....

No. Because if you trade your CJ8 for that the other guy will have a bad ass CJ8.

Well, I'm someone who's done that, sold my truck, trailer, Jeep, and sand rail, and am starting everything over....

I'd say it comes down to what you want to do with the vehicle. Do you want the older style, top down, mud in your face experience, or do you want the newer, plush :grandman: kind of ride?

Thats really the main thing for me. That, and whether its really put together. Evrey wheeler I've built has always started with a stock vehicle, so I haven't run into other peoples hack-work, but most people I know who get someone elses wheeler end up doing a lot or work to get things the way they want them.

Sure why not...you have not had a ZJ before...I dont think...

But I sure would be sad if the Scrambler was gone and I never got a ride further than out the garage door in it....don't break my heart like that Bones...

Do what you want...as long as you'd get out and wheel with KU-ORC this spring...but I really like the Scrambler...

Well considering I own a ZJ that is lifted, etc, and really wish mine was build like that one.........I say NO!.....Keep the Scrambler. You get into hard wheelin' that you're CJ8 is set up for and you mangle the body on the ZJ, not to mention the unibody.

You should keep your scrambler. If you don't, I will have the biggest scrambler on this site!

Then you should sell me the wheels and tires off of your scrambler.

Mine will be just as big once I finally get something done with it... At this rate, you aren't in danger of being smaller. :gman:
