Silver Lake is to small an hour and you have been all over it... and you can't camp on the dunes and do night rides....

Really? the times i've been to the dunes I don't remember any scantly clad ladies dancing like that or showing boobies. I also don't remember seeing Robby Gordon jump a Baja 1000 truck at Silver Lake either

Size of the dunes sure, Glamis is larger, but jumping and such, there are tons of guys doing that. Nothing new. I have seen rails jumping way higher and longer then that at the dunes, same with quads and bikes.

Anyone remember the red chevy that was on the cover of one of the mags? It was like a 800 hp thing with huge ass wide paddle tires and it was launching WAY further then any of the rails on that video. I was there that day they did the photo shoot.

If you haven't seen the crazy stuff at silver lake, then you haven't been there enough or on the right days.

I've been to Glamis / Imperial Dunes and to Dumont Dunes near Death Valley once each. Glamis was awesome and camping there nightly, hearing the coyotes howling nearby, was cool as heck. They have dunes there that are 6-8 times taller than Test Hill. Dumont is flake type sand so it has much steeper dune faces than Silver Lake or Glamis dunes.

I cannot wait to hit Glamis. A friend of mine has been there 3 times, and says it's the best thing on earth. Anything and everything you could ever imagine is out there.

comparing glamis or even pismo to silver lake.. yea you see a FEW people doing stupid things but not often. the whole directional thing at silver lake takes away half the fun.. plus sleeping out in the dunes is a blast, along with night time wheeling in the dunes.. nothing like it at all.... bt silver lake is better then nothing i will say that and it does allow for some good times even if you have to see some corn fed mid-western hoes shaking more then ou want to see from time to time

I don't, the amount of accidents out there would increase at LEAST 10 fold and it would likely get closed as a result.

I'd rather have it open to us, then ride during the night
