Default where to look for a dirtbike?

i went to wheels in oxford and they said they would give me a 2007 rmz250 for 6k out the door, then 1500 for my trade in (2003 rm 125)

does anyone work at a shop that can hook me up a little more than 6% off? or let me know where can find a good deal on a used one. i would be paying with cash if that makes a difference

im looking for a 2006-2007 rmz 250 or crf 250 new or used.

any help or links would be appreciated

If you're down for searching try:

www.cycletrader.com

www.auto-rv.com (they also print the free Michigan Auto RV classifieds that are found nearly everywhere)

eBay

btt

me and a friend are looking for 2 used(or barely used) 2006 crf 250r's if you find me a bike that i dont already know about and i purchase it ill give you $20

the criteria: not beat to shit, the less ridden the better, less than $4500, price depends on mods. within about 300 miles from detroit.

ill consider 2005's if the bike checks out.

Unfortunately, most people ride the CRF250R's like a two-stroke and the (expensive) valvetrain gets beat to hell.

I really like those bikes, but I wouldn't buy one used with the problems they've had in the past.

theres a few bikes for sale on the AMA district 14 site. and if you plan on buying new I hate to do it but go to Honda east in toledo. its got the best prices on stuff and they can get anything, do a search for your bike on www.cycletrader.com and you will find loads of stuff from Honda east.

X 1 billion - if you're getting a 250 buy it new (unless you want to drop close to a grand to have the head/valves redone - which is what I hear people are paying to have it done)

I suppose if you can find a low hours one you'd *possibly* be alright. Trouble is, from what I've seen, is that most people buy a bike and what do they do?? Allow break in time?? Nope, they ride them like they stole em'.......on a two stroke that may work, but on a four stroke it typically doesn't

Latest dirt rider tested the 07 250F trailbikes (KTM, Honda, Yamaha) and for the style f riding we like to do, it sounds like the X can't be beat. She also has ridden a friend's WR250F and didn't like the low-end power (lack of, that is). Honda rated slower than the others with more low-end grunt - that's where it's at for now.
