95 Dakota 4x4 failure

I have a 95 Dakota 4x4 w/ a 318, functioning flawlessly until a couple of days ago. . . the t case lever will move through all positions, but the front hubs/differential will not lock in. Suggestions would be helpful, since the roads have been bad lately
had the same problem with my s10, it was the vaccuum actuator for the front diff. could it be the same in the mopar?

i thought dodge was supposed to be better than chevy
