Default 99 5.3 liter silverado acting up (155,000 Miles)

My truck will run and start fine, drive to destination no problem.

-Saturday-
1st event, drove truck for a while, got to normal operating temperature, turned off, went into store, strolled around for a half hour or so, got back in truck, started truck, put in drive, sat for a second or two, went to pull out of spot, truck died. Wasn't paying real close attention, so I wasn't aware of why it was doing this.

2nd event, 30 minute drive after first issue, went into grocery store, came back out 15 minutes of truck sitting. Started truck dropped into reverse, truck sputters, put in drive go to pull out of parking lot and truck sputters, then seems to catch and behave normally for the rest of the drive.

-YESTERDAY-

3rd event, jump in cold truck, allow to idle minute or so, cruise 1 mile to subway, truck never gets above 180. Grab sammich, get back in truck, starts fine, go to pull out into traffic, truck still below 180, truck exhibits "missing" "sputtering" condition. At red light I throw truck (literally I am very strong) into nutral, give a couple redneck revs, sputters abit as I pull away, then runs fine the rest of the 1 mile back to work.

Leave work, again truck is cold, warms to operating temp, runs fine, no problems at all.

4th event, stop and pick up son at daycare, turn truck off, get back in truck, start truck, pull out of daycare, truck sputters.

The "sputter" "mis" whatever feels kinda like when you get water in your distributor, not really a jerking big time miss, more like a weak spark miss.....

I thought it was possibly bad fuel? Hosejockey and Xjeeper mentioned possible fuel filter....I could just start throwing parts at it, but I don't want to dent the kick ass custom paint job.

It seems to be an issue only after driving the truck, shutting it off, and then getting back in it. The problem does not seem to be present in the morning, or when I first start the truck after it has sat long enough to cool all the way back down.

sounds like a pre cat 02 sensor acting up. we have these a lot where they cause a lean condition and draw the fuel away causing hard starts and misfires.....also pull the vacuum line off the fuel pressure regulator and see if there is gas in the line this would also cause that!

I didn't see this post before I left for home to fix the truck but you are right on. Bank 2 Sensor 1 was bad. I replaced it and so far it seems to have cured the problem. I was misfiring on 2468 cylinders.
