Default Your tax dollars at work. Summary of my trip to 7-11 at 9:28am.

I drive to the 7-11 every morning at walton/perry around 9:30 to get my iced starbucks and blueberry muffin.

The lady in front of me had three kids with her, all bothering her to purchase candy, especially m&m's. The mom says "NO" over and over. She finally says "daddy will whip your ass if you keep this up".

The 7-11 lady rings up her 40oz of milwaukees best, red bull (large size), and 1/2 pint of hennessey. She paid for that with a $20.00 winner (red wings scratch off) lottery ticket. She used the remaining money to purchase 8 $1.00 lottery tickets.

She then handed the teller a handful of big game tickets, and he went and scanned them one by one. She had won $4.00. She then says "one minute" walks to the cooler and comes back with another 40oz of milwaukees best, and buys it. She uses the extra dollar to purchase another $1.00 scratch off ticket, and puts the remaining change (.27) in the give a penny take a penny thing.

She then pays for the lunchable, energy bar, loaf of bread with food stamps.

I didn't say a thing, when I got up to the counter, I paid my usual $3.72 for my muffin/coffee and took the quarter out of the give a penny take a penny holder.

As I walked out to my truck, I glanced over to see the 4-5 year olds hopping in the back of the brand new denalli without car seats.

that is all.

Doesn't Sol Goode drive a Denalli?

Wait until I tell him how his kids were acting.

You didn't mention. Was she in a leather or fur coat. Sporting lots of gold or platinum and had on brand new shoes?

yah, you can play the system like that... it sucks, had a friend do that with WIC for a while, but then he lives with his wife and 3 kids in a single wide trailer that his father in law gave them and is trying to save for a house...

Lemme guess, the Denalli was registered in Illinois or something so that it wouldn't show up as one of thier assets to the Michigan welfare system. Gee, at least she'll get a good drunk on so she can get knocked up again.

I would've asked her who she stole it from.

(the food stamps or the Denali, either one)

I never have either, my parents both WORKED to provide for us (not that it helped since they filed for bankruptcy when I was 13). That, and the fact that when we were broke we had these things called cows that lived in the field behind our house and a really big freezer.

My neighbor's able-bodied 18-year-old son gets a tick over $600 a month in social security because he has bi-polar. Back when I used to talk to my neighbor he used to joke that it is to his son's benefit to sit on his ass all day. If his son were to get a job the government would reduce the social security benefits. The boy dropped out of high school when he was 16. $600 a month is not a lot of money but for a high school dropout without a job he is doing pretty well for himself. Fortunately the son shows entrepenerial skills and has recently opened up a marijuana selling business from his garage.

My wife and I have filed a complaint with social security but they stated as long as a psych. will sign off the boy will get the money.

don't even get me started on social in-security. the biggest problem is the fools the government hires to support this BS.

I can't for the life of me, figure out why social security is in trouble with smart moves like this kid. We need to take advantage of that whole "mapping of the genome" thing and figure out what part makes Americans have this compelling urge to feel as though EVERY life is precious... and remove it.
