Default Stupid tickets

So last night before heading out to the bar, i get pulled over. The cop suspected that I was a drunk driver because I made a few small mistakes, like goin a few miles over the limit, not using my signals for a turn, and accidently goin left of the center line for a few seconds on an empty road while trying to get a smoke. Anyway the cop ends up giving me a ticket for going left of center(for 2-3 secs.) Anyone got any tips on how to get out of a stupid ticket like this? Anyone else have any stupid ticket stories or stupid run-ins with the law?

What kind of road was it? Paved? Dirt? Painted line or not?

I would plead not guilty and ask them to write you an equipment violation for not having a rear bumper instead.

Setup an informal hearing, then 7 days prior to each hearing call and have it delayed. You can do it twice. This means 8 months away you will have your hearing. The cop won't remember what happened and you will be let off.

DO NOT PLEAD NOT GUILTY, the informal hearing is where its at.

Teggardine is the worst for cops. The section between M-59 & White Lake rd is a 40 mph speed limit. No houses and totally straight road. Every other paved road in the area is 45 or 50. Look at Ormond: totally populated, has a store and 2 bars on it, side streets and it goes up and down. It's 45.

Teggardine is a cash cow for White Lake cops.

I got my first ticket here in Berkley a day after my bday last year. I was speeding, 12 over, and I forgot to put my new plates on. He was a total jackass. No matter what I said, he was going to give me a ticket for plates & speeding, but if I showed proof for the plates he'd wave that. I went in and pleaded guilty but I wanted a formal hearing, like CC said. Then I found out who the prosecutor was and I called him up and kissed his ass. I told him that I take full responsibility for speeding and I understand what I did was wrong; however, I cannot afford for my insurance to go. I went on to tell him that I'm just out of college and money is super tight. I told him that I'll pay the fine, no problem, but I just don't want the points. He told me to make sure that I get with him 10-15 minutes before the court hearing, which was postponed like 5 times. While I was sitting in the court room waiting to meet with the prosecutor, I noticed that there wasn't a single cop at any of the other traffic hearings. I thought that the cop had to show up???
Anyway, when I met with the prosecutor, I gave him the same story and he dropped the ticket down to a moving violation, or something like that. The fine was more money but I didn't get points and it didn't go on my record, so I was thankful for that. You could try something similar.... Good luck!

Easy.

Fight the ticket in court, and tell the truth. It will work or not. Most of the time they will at least reduce the number of points.

I got pulled over once because the wear bars were showing on my tires. I was driving a mint 69 Z-28 Camaro (clone car) at the time. I tried to explain that the car was wearing the rear tires out fast for some reason. :tonka:

I think she called him a jackass because he was apparently a jackass. It is possible for a cop to do their job without being a jackass and I don't see where she called him a jackass for giving her a ticket. All she said was that he was a jackass, you jackass.

This jackass will kick your ass!

Hell I had a suspended license in 02, insurance is hell for me because idiots keep running into me, I'm never going to have anything nice because people keep jacking up my shit. I can park in the middle of Mijers parking lot and somebody will run into me even though there are no cars within 50 ft.

hm, rant got off, I had to take a moving violation to court, it was "Failure to yield to a traffic signal" (Ran a red light) The very nice young office gave it to me after I got t boned on College and Wealthy. He told me I got the ticket "Because he had to issue a citation and he didn't have any evidence that could prove who ran the light and he didn't want to listen to the other driver bitch for 20 minutes about how much of an idiot he was" then he told me to take it to court and he would either not show up or tell the judge to throw it out... either way I still missed half a day of work, had a Jacked up truck and a headache that lasted 3 days... while she had a POS Sun fire that would never move again.

sorry, I think about how many times that truck was wrecked and I get pissed off and rant...

BTW, I got my license suspended for Speeding tickets, and it was only suspended for 30 days, after I got my license back everyone started to run into me...

I was driving my 91 Dynasty home one night. I was pretty fricken tired, but the wife needed some groceries to get her by in the morning. So after getting out of 12hrs of work for the day I pick up a few items at Meijers.

On my way home I get pulled over. I was like wtf I had my cruise control on doing 65. First thing out of the officers mouth was......."You know you have been weaving in your lane. What bar were you at tonight?" I told him Meijers. He sees my groceries and I swear he mutters to his partner he's not drunk.......lmao
