I'm an ex-smoker, and still light one up if I'm drunk enough. Smoking around me sometimes bothers me, but other times it doesn't. I still think people have the right to smoke, and not be "discriminated" against. Most buildings are smoke free with the exception of bars, restaurants and casinos. I think it should be permitted, but kind of restricted.

For example, cigarettes are allowed, but no foul smelling cigars. Or, customers aren't allowed to continue to smoke half a pack while they are at a restaurant for a half hour.

P.S. - Thanks haha.

I support the ban. I am an ex-smoker. I think smoking smells worse now then when I started. Just my 2 cents.

What's up with you and smoking today? :tonka:

The only place I smoke in public would be the bar. Banning it every where but there would be fine with me.

I don't smoke, I would prefer to be in a non-smoking place, but I'm not sure if a full out ban is needed.
Some people, even non-smokers, say a bar wouldn't be right without the smoke in the air, but I would much rather go to a non-smoking bar or non-smoking section of a bar.

When I was able to go out to eat, my wife and I tried only to visit Non-smoking restaurants. nothing worse than trying to enjoy a meal while someone is tokin down a pack.

I used to smoke, but never ruined anyone's meal doing it.

I've lived in 4 states in the last ten years - each of the three before MI ban'd smoking in 'the workplace' while I was there or shortly before I moved - there was always outrage about lost business of bars, but the reality is that people still went and spent money, smoking ban or not.

X2

What I dont support is the government telling smokers everywhere they can't smoke, but they will still take the taxes form them. For example the govt wants to tell parents they cant smoke in there cars or home if a kid is there. But they wont make smoking illegal because they will lose all the tax $$.

Ban it. Get rid of the shit. There's no reason at all it should be allowed to continue being sold IMO. Drugs and alcohol at least have the courtesy of not fouling my airspace.

I have never smoked. I dont like it when I get home from the bar and smell like smoke... makes my house stink.

If you are allowed to make my clothes stink with cigarettes, I should be allowed to spill my drink on you with no reprocussions.

I agree.

I would rather smell someones stinky cigar than cigarette smoke. I would also probably go to the bare more if there was no smoking. However, when im drunk, Ill light one up...lol
