Default Mattress Opinions

It's time folks, I have to break down and get a new mattress. There are 1000 different types, what do you have, and what have you found is good/bad? I am thinking pillowtop, any suggestions?

We sleep on two futons topped with 2" of memory foam. About $300 invested, and I guess I sleep okay.

Whatever you spend will be too much and within a few weeks you will see cheaper prices.

Stay away from Art Van. The local furniture place here beats Art Van's "SALE" prices all the time and claims Art Van is actually a good customer of thiers.

We bought a pillow top, it wasn't nearly as soft as the one in the store. I didn't take into account the fact the one in the store was well tested.

Memory Foam is where its at IMO.

My ex g/f had a Denver Mattress Co. pillow top... sometimes I wish I was still with her just so I can sleep on that mattress.... unfortunately I would need some Prozac and a gag for the bitch next to me

Tempurpedic. the real shizznitz. been great for my back.

some people are gona bitch... that they get hot... the older ones did.

the new ones have layers... that get air movement in um and thus keeping it much cooler. Im the kinda person who flips his pillow cause it gets too warm and ive never had a problem with it

The wife and I discussed this very subject last night. We need a new bed.

I was considering one of those Select Comfort beds, anyone have one?

We currently have a King Coil mattress with a 2" layer of memory foam on top. It's nice and comfortable...warm in the winter, but kinda hot in the summer. Plus you have to buy special extra deep bedding. It cannot be turned over becuase the memory foam is on one side only. It already has indents after only 2 years. Not worth the $1,700.00 I spent on it (I don't know why we still shop at Art Van??).

I stayed 70 nights in a Sheraton last year and I love their pillow top mattresses. The Costco pillow top is pretty much the same thing at a much lower price.

I have one of those select comfort sleep number beds.....let me tell you the best f'in money I ever spent. nice cuz you can have your side however soft or hard as you like and your spouse can have theirs however they like...

takes a few weeks to find your #, but after that I have had 0 back pain.

better warranty than most other mattresses out there, and around the same price as other pillow tops.

I talked my parents into getting one, and they love it too...they called the company and got a refurbed one......all new stuff where your body touches, just the innerds and pump were refurbed and still has a "new" warranty.

Tempurpedic No turning, No Fliping and 10 year unconditional guarantee, then the next ten years they pro-rate it. How can you say no The tempurpedic pillows are awsome too

From what I found when I was looking for a bed is that you get what you pay for, the more you pay the more you get.

It's from all the humping on those cold winter nights.

We go at it like rabbits, it's crazy.
I have to help my wife get out of bed in the morning because shes so sore.

I have a similar air mattress (not select comfort, though), king size pillowtop with dual chambers (so each side is individually adjustable).

I 2nd the opinion, best I've tried. My parents have a temperpedic and don't like the way that you get molded into the bed. Perhpas they have improved them.

Air beds are the way to go.
