Default Quad Rental? Nortern Lower or UP?

Hey everyone,

Is anyone aware of a place where I could rent a pair of Quads for the day? My girlfriend has never been on one and I'd love to introduce her to it. Preferably some place near a nice trail or something, I've rented a snowmobile a few times from some gents on a house near the trail, you could just ride on and off of it.

I am thinking of Northern Lower Peninsula or the UP, we are going to be heading up there in a few weekends.

Thanks for any suggestions. I'd love to just buy two but that isn't in the cards at the moment.

Matt

Ehlert's in Atlanta? I've seen them out on the trails, never rented one, but I can tell you the trails north of Atlanta are good for beginners. Some wide ORV Routes and ORV Trails, fairly well marked, not so twisty like others I've seen.

Hey firecat,

Do you have a number or some contact info for Ehlert's? Googling is turning up bupkis. Being the handy guy I am, I decided to google for Atlanta, Michigan and found the Chamber of Commerce. THey had a "Businesses in Atlanta" page that had an "ATV Rental" link, I was like "Totally cool! This is perfect" and of course as I muttered that the ATV Rental page throws up a 404, file not found error.

I e-mailed the President of the Chamber who told me he would get me the information, but that was yesterday, still nothing today, sigh.

I'd like to head up there this weekend, so... giving them a call sooner rather than later is cool.

Thanks all,
Matt

I think there's a place just west of Bergland in the UP... Lake Gogebic Sports I believe.

Google is your friend! Click HERE for a good list of rental places, and click HERE or HERE for a good list of trails.

Have a blast :D There are TONS of cool places to ride!

Not sure if he's still around, but try Bear Tracks ATV rentals out of Kalkaska. phone # is (877) 521-5336.

Ehlert's in Atlanta is fairly reasonable. And the trails are pretty good. I believe there is another shop in Mio area that rents, the Bull Gap trails there are still in decent shape.

Ahh thanks guys, some continued, frustrating googling led me to realize it's Ehler's, not Ehlert's. Their site only lists Snowmobiles, but I will give them a call shortly and talk about Quad rentals. Sweet! That's exactly the area I was looking to hit.

I'll try one of the UP ones later in the summer, probably.

Went this weekend and rented from Ehlers. Overall a very positive experience. Rented 2 4 Wheelers, both were Honda Ranchers, 350cc. Not the fastest thing on the trail but we had a blast. One unit had a pretty darn flat tire right from the get go, which bummed me out more than a little. Paying a significant number of Washingtons for a rental, I don't want to worry about that crap for the day. So I ended up having to drive the unit on the shoulder of the road up to the Mobil to fill up the tire.

Still, overall, I had a great day. I definitely see an irresponsible purchase of a 4 wheeler in my future.

fuerstma - you should also try a motorcycle up there on the trails.
