I am far from an expert on insomnia i am closer to skoot in being able to take a nap at any time i have a chance, if the opportunity presents itself. I find though that the times i can fall right asleep, like say in 10 minutes is my fault for thinking of stuff before bed. You have to do a mental dump, watch tv for a half hour then get retarded cleanse your mind, nothing deep, no worrying about other people, ( i know hard for you to avoid GM ), girlfriend, school none of that. It might take a while for you to condition your self mentally if your a worry wart or something. But if i dont fall asleep in like 10-15 minutes i am wrecked and it can take hours. I have like a make or break it period, if i dont fall asleep and have to TRY to fall asleep its hopeless.

The others are definatley correct, dont use the bed except for fawking and sleeping you creat dangerous mental association for example studing in bed makes you conditioned to be mentally alert and focused in bed when you should be calm and relaxing, eating in bed creates food associations which right as you are ready to fall asleep you get insatiably hungry for no apparent reason.

Get a lazy boy for your room if you watch tv in your room dont watch it in your bed. Just by simply making the bed a sleep only zone you can condition yourself to just fall asleep simply because your in bed.

Ofcourse if there is physiological stuff wrong with you and not psychological wrong with you this wont help. The psych stuff works though.
