Default TBI to Carb swap

I have a 1990 Chevy Z71 with Throttle Body Injection. I have been thinking about putting a carburator on it so I can eliminate all the sensors and PCM controls. I have basically everything I need for the carb swap (800cfm double pumper, Edelbrock Performer RPM intake, HO 305 heads, HEI distributor). I plan on putting in mechanical gauges and re-wire everything. I currently have the body off of the frame of the truck and I will soon be building it from the ground up come spring.

I was wondering if anyone has suggestions for or against this swap?

Thanks

800 cfm? That's a bit high for a 350.

I can get rid of all that nasty fuel injection computer, wiring, sensors, and crap for you.

800 cfm is way to big with stock heads. 600-650 will do just fine unless you have like 300 cc runners in your intake..:tonka:

I realize the 800 is too large of a carb for the setup, but I know it works. It will be a temp. until I get my 600 holley pieced together.

By the way, does anyone know if those TBI engines have a lobe on the cam for a mechincal fuel pump? Thanks.

If I go ahead with the swap, I will probably post a bunch of stuff for sale in a few months.

I know my 94 350 suburban doesn't have the outside provisions for a mech fuel pump. Its cast there, but not machined out.

I would just get a regulator and use the stock pump.
