Default Cell Numbers being given to Telemarketers. Block them now !

I received this in a email.. took me not eeven a minuite to complete the process..
Hi everyone,
JUST A REMINDER....ON JAN 31,2006, all cell phone numbers are being released to telemarketing companies and you will start to receive sale calls. ...YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR THESE CALLS...

To prevent this, call the following number from your cell phone: 888-382-1222. It is the National DO NOT CALL list. It will only take a minute of your time. It blocks your number for five (5) years.

HELP OTHERS BY PASSING THIS ON TO ALL YOUR FRIENDS OR GO TO: www.donotcall.gov <http://www.donotcall.gov/>

for profit telemarketers have to obey the do not call law, or you can report them and they get a 10k fine.
For profit telemarketers are required to run their prospect lists through the do not call list every 30 days to make sure that the number has not been registered during that period.
If you opt in or have a business relationship telemarketers do not have to abide by do not call. So... you cant tell your credit card companies not to call when they come looking for their dough :miff:
We deal with this at work even though most people in our prospect lists opt in.

SBC would not stop calling my homes land line. Atleast in 2003 the FCC had rules regarding unsolisited calls, and they do have to take you off their call database, if they call again you can sue them for $500, if they call again you can sue for triple damages which is $1500.

I've done it for all the phones.

When I moved last august, new number was getting on Average 20 calls a day from marketers. After registering that number, and waiting the 30 days I now get maybe 2 a month
