Default Lookin for pics of YJ's with SBC's

a couple things in particular.

id like to get some shots of the clearance to the firewall and radiator w/fan.
also some shots of the advance adapters weld in mounts would be cool.

i dropped the motor in today, and everything seems cool, also had the trans on it, just curious what the rest of you did. I took the motor back out so i dont have any pics to show for it. mainly i wanted an idea of what i had for room.

thanx guys!

I don't have good shots of the mounts or firewall clearance but there was PLENTY of room. I used Novack Weld-In mounts.

I have most all of the shots you need, I have upclose of the mm's and I have a decent one from right over the motor, I have about 1.5-2" between the top of the bellhousing and the firewall, the distributor is almost tight to the firewall.

With a flex fan I had abotu 2" to the radiator. With an electric I have something like 4,

Photobucket is down Or I would post them.

it almost looks as if that 383 belongs in there from the start..
as stated before YJ's came with an inline 6 stock so usin a v-8 `which has comparibale length to a 4cy should be a problem....

Really appreaciate it, you too muddypaws. Id just like to check out where the engine mounts sit on the frame, and how high up they are. Plus i just like getting other ideas that i may have over looked when i was thinking of how it was going to go in.

Thanx again!

And that bungee holding the battery has been fixed

i have more if needed, some of these are pretty old, I have re-done wiring in many cases
The pics with the chrome air cleaner are the oldest, used that for testing till my other arrived
Just realized i need more recent pics. I use a PF454 oil filter now, and got rid of the remote system, I also have HEI and less random wires, though I need to rip out the relays on the fender, those lights dont work anymore

Awesome thanks so much, that clears up the things that i was curious about. Yours looks good too. I like the valve covers, im using the same ones, and i think they look pretty decent. I like the air cleaner too, thinking about getting that to match. I should have just bought the whole kit and called it good.

Thanx again!

good luck on getting those covers to seal... I have used every type of gasket I could fine. The only thing that I have used that worked it a product called "great Stuff" its in an aerosol-type caulk tube. 12 bux at advance auto parts. I have been quite dissappointed in them. The paint on the inside has even flaked off.
