ford and chevy spindles are different i dont remeber which way it was but you can machine one to fit the other but not the other way around.

Can you just use different bearings to make it work?

The spindle is longer on the chevy than the ford. You might be able to put a spacer between the inner part of the outer wheel bearing and the spindle where it usually sits againist?

What about switching spindles as well. I have never had one of these apart. A freind has a dually dana 60 chevy and wants single. I am looking for a dana 60 for a ford and thought if a got a single that maybe we could trade.

If they are both kingpin axles you can switch them but you will have to switch from the knuckles out. Ford uses 5 studs for the spindle and chevy uses 6. A benfit to run the the chevy stuff is being able to run the 35 spline spicer outers
