Looks like a 44 but I don't know. 86 widetrack had a measurement of 54.5" according to http://www.jeeptech.com/axle/d44.html

i knew it was a 44, just not sure on the widetrack or not.

Narrow track jeep 44s were REALLY narrow, 50.5" wms.

Scouts are around 59" I think, Waggies are like 57" and wider.



Ah, but wait a minute, I see your measuring point now. OK, no, I don't think its a CJ axle. Because the WMS is measure from the seating surface of the rims, so outside of the drums. I'd guess those drums would add another 5" to the width. So then its a good shot its a scout axle with the 5 on 5.5" pattern.
