How about more options.

Good in some areas, bad in others.

Bush is a stooge! All he is supposed to do is what he is told because he's NOT A BRIGHT MA-AN.......if you actually think HE makes the decisions, you are not too bright yourself. His cabinet has done decent things for the country in overall economy, michigan excluded which has nothing to do with the idiot that Bush is. The way MOST things have been handled during his REIN have been rediculously mis-handled. MY personal opinion is that he has more reasons to be impeached than Clinton getting a BJ in the oval office. If he were any other country's leader, he would have been tried for being a war criminal.

Lessee...

Iraq - C- and declining. Failed to learn lesson on firm scope definition and control from Vietnam (bad) and Kuwait Liberation (good). We had good, defensable reasons for going in, we didn't have a clear sense of mission or what success meant. We can't build Iraq - the Iraqis have to do it, which means a civil war will have to work itself out. The complication of that is that somebody, somehow needs to keep that an intermural civil war, not a Syrian / Iranian Shiite proxy war. Gee, it doesn't make for a nice sound bite, now does it?

Economy - not a lot of control over that (despite mad ravings of the liberals). War has increased deficit, a serious issue.

Most of the other problems have been brewing for years, and the current and prior administrations (of all parties) have done little (other than talk and gesture) about it: the "world economy", unfair trade practices defended as "world economy", cost & availability of health care, the fantasy of social security, energy independence, a FEMA that has been all talk and no capability since it was formed, etc...

Overall Dubya (just like in college) is a C student. His style led to moments of greatness after 9/11 (sorry Algore would've been a crying, whimpering, indecisive mess), and otherwise he's done a decent job. Iraq is a weak point, one that (due to it's sheer size and impact) overshadows everything else.

I always find it entertaining when someone starts ripping on another for not being intelligent and their rant is filled with grammatical errors and poor spelling.

As a rule I avoid e-arguments, but you mention so many issues that keep coming up I have to respond:

Quote:

A common sentiment. So exactly WHO is telling him what to do?

Quote:

And what was the Cheif Executive to do for MI? Remember, he doesn't make or impose laws - he approves them. His power is really pretty limited. I don't think a Presidential Proclamation that everyone has to buy a car or truck made in MI would carry much weight. MI's problem is it's dependence on the auto industry, and the decline of that industry.

Quote:
The way MOST things have been handled during his REIN have been rediculously mis-handled.
Other than Iraq, cite three examples of things that have been mishandled that were his doing.

Quote:
MY personal opinion is that he has more reasons to be impeached than Clinton getting a BJ in the oval office.
OK, once and for all, Bill Clinton DID NOT GET IMPEACHED FOR GETTING A BEEJER IN THE OVAL OFFICE. HE WAS IMPEACHED FOR LYING ABOUT IT UNDER OATH.

Quote:

For what? Some lower-level troops "mistreated" some Iraqi detainees (they're not POWs if they're not in uniform, etc...). I doubt the White House was providing direction at that level of detail. Gitmo? Please. Terrorists are not combat troops, and don't get treated the same way. Suppose we had a few Al-Quaeda types in detention and could've got intelligence to avoid it? Would you?

I would have to agree that in some areas the current administration has done well, while in others they have dropped the ball. Too bad chief woo-woo still doesn’t get the fact that everything is not black and white. The rest of this is just my personal opinion, and it is based on there being grey areas in life.

For me the war in Iraq is being run poorly. We need to stop letting carrier politicians run a military operation, and let the military do their job. On that note, get the press the hell out of the way. War is messy, people die, and terrible things happen. The public does not have to see it on the news, it’s a fact, so get the press out of the way and let the military do what they are trained to do.

The economy sucks because Americans don’t care. People bitch about the economy while watching TV on their Japanese set, make their breakfast in the Chinese made Microwave, and drive their Korean car to work. Japan and Korea put a huge tax on American vehicles being brought into their countries as does China. Here’s a thought, do the same to their products coming into our country. Level the playing field a bit. And on the economy, get the unions under control. A floor sweeper for the big 3 doesn’t need to make $18- $20 per hour just because he belongs to a union. As for a ‘world economy’, it is not going away, we need to learn to be more competitive in it.

Bush isn’t doing the greatest of jobs, but he is doing fine with what he has to work with. Perhaps we should vote in Chief woo-woo, after all, he is perfect when it comes to politics.

I would like to point out that when Katrina hit New Orleans, the bush administration took 3 days to do anything but when the tsunami hit SOME OTHER COUNTRY the bush administration was right there doing everything they could to help. I really do agree with the union issues, they served their purpose in the 60's, 70's, and even into the early 80's. But now all they do is drive companies to other countries to seek employment that can allow them to actually make a profit.

PS
Sorry professor SS. Do I get graded on this?

The government response to Katrina was also the fastest response by any administration in the country's history. It took seven days for the first trucks to get down there for Hurricane Andrew.

You get an A for effort but a D in everything else.
