Default Headlight wiring

I have a 98 GMC that is having issues with the wiring in the column. I am lead to belive that it is a wiring issue do the the fact that it was intermitent with movent of the tilt column. I guess my guestion is...who around here knows wiring and would be interested in digging into this?

The wires in the column that control your headlamps route to the dimmer switch (multifunction). For a export truck (should be the same as yours) a red wire feeds the dash switch, then a Yellow wire will run up the column to the dimmer switch. Feeding out of the dimmer switch is a tan wire (low beam) and a lt Green for highbeam. Check these wires. Note if your issue is high only or low beam only. If it is only on both than most likely, itís the yellow wire feeding the dimmer. If only one than it's the out feed tan or lt green.

And yes it is a low beam only issue. I have high beams.

I am having this issue with my 2000 silverado no low beams only high, they used to work then as i kept using the tilt they would fliker and went out altogether a used column is 175 bucks but no one wants to put that in. is there a way to fix without replacing the entire column. i am going to attempt to do the work myself
does anyone have detailed instructions for me, please
