Default another zj question

when i think i fixed all the stuff wrong with it another thing comes up

so when im cruising at about 50 mph and let off the gas the rpms go from about 2000 to 1500 and then back up to 2000 and then back down and so on till i get to about 45 mph then it stops. it jerks the jeep around pretty good when it does this and after driving around in traffic doing about 50 it starts to make me feel a lil sick. any ideas?

i would guess

#1- low trans fluid
#2- bad torque converter
#3- bad valve body
#4- some freekish calibration glitch
#5- OD band is worn (but still shouldn't cycle engage/disengage unless there is a pressure issue.

Chenge your fluid and see what happens. Your speedo is working correct right? No check engine light?

Sounds like the converter is shuddering when it's trying to lock up.

Wait, this happens when you let off the gas? Not while at steady cruise or accelerating?

try checking/replacing your throttle position sensor. It can cause an engine to surge.

I think your converter is going in and out of lock up. It is common.
