Default Ford Trans ??

Anyone ever have a transmiision go in Ford windstar .??

1998 windstar with a 3.8 , going down the road fine .Then all of a sudden , no forward motion . Coasted over to a lot , no reverse , drive , 1 or 2 just gone.

Fluid looks normal , changed the transmission range sensor ( neutral switch ) . still nothing .

Just wondering if there are some solutions , before hitting a trans shop .

Heard there are some problems with this and the probe transmission .

No noises , no binding . Took off from the light and all of sudden nothing .

Engine runs fine , no lights on the dash or the end of the lever. Supposed to flash on the end of the selector lever if a trans code is present.

Sounds like you maybe broke the shaft off between the torque converter and pump. Need to put a gauge on it to see if you have pump pressure. Not familiar enough with that particular type of trans to tell you where the test port is.

That trans has a problem with the pump shafts wearing out on them, and as a result they leak pressure. also the servo pin can break resulting in a no forward movement, but yours doesn't back up either. Is the fluid high on the dipstick? If it is, the pump went bad. It also could be a t.converter because ford had problems with those from 95 to 99.
