Default 4.0L no start

helping a buddy out with this

we have a 90 ranger with 2.9L 5spd
had a 91 explorer 4.0L Auto

i took the 4.0L and all components (pcm, wiring harness, everything from behind the dash etc..)
and swapped it in the ranger

i bypassed the neutral safety to get it to crank
cranks just fine.....but i have no spark, and no inj pulse.....i have gone back over everygrd and pigtail and have found nothing wrong....

i have battery voltage at injectors and 1.5 volts at crank sensor, i ohmed crank sensor and compared to a known good one (same reading)
checked all three relays and they work...checked for voltage at ICM and Grd, both were present....don't know where else to go

all i have is a crappy haynes manual...if i was at qork i would have alldata and could probably figure this out but i don't so i need help

Just a couple thoughts, possibley some kind of anti-theft system? have you tried using the orignial key tumbler?

Does the fuel pump prime the system at key on? possibley try jumpering the oil presure sending unit wire?

I'd check that crank sensor agian as well. perhaps whatever triggers it isn't there anymore?

If not, I'd guess its something simple, wires not connected, etc.

Or get a carb!

I'm not sure about the CPS on that year, but sensors usually have a 5V supply.

That was my thought as well - the CPS should be a hall-effect type, but I'm not sure of the signal voltage either
