Default 92 to 97 ranger motor swap, wiring help?

dropping a 1992 XL 4 banger into a 1997 XLT body, motor turns over but we cant get the fuel pump to turn on , or get a good spark. does anyone know how to connect the ignition control module, a gray box positioned on the lower intake, to the computer. I think that is our problem.

The 92 used the ignition module (gray box) and a 60pin PCM, in 97 the PCM controled the coils and has 104pins. Make sure you are using the correct harnesses, sensors and modules for the PCM you have installed. The PCM has to get a crank signal before it will turn on the fuel pump - other than the 2-3 second prime at key up.

Thanks, we figured out that the 92 has an external ignition control module, and the pcm in the 97 has it built in, so we are going to try and find a 97 coil that plugs into the 97 harness
