Default The Black Hole

Well I got my Jeep in Jan of 06 (I brought my self a brithday gift for turnning 21)
paid 350 buck for the dang thing. 81 CJ7 with a GM 2.5L Iron Duke SR4 trans and a Dana 300. This thing was completly shot when i picked it up but well worth the price I paid. Body was pritty much gone. Frame was bad. Only thing worth saving was the drive train and a few body peices (HOOD AND GRILL).

Well I started to take the thing a part. My Friend and I cut the body off with a saw zaw and cut off wheel. Saved what we could and scraped the rest.
That took us about 4 hours to tear it down to the frame.

After we got the jeep strip to the frame i started to look for a new one. Well I found one. Was in a little fight over it bettwen a few guys told the owner of it I would come get it that night. Frame was in great shape. It was all cleaned up and painted. But the best part of the deal was I got it for a 15 Pack of beer. got it home put it in the garage and switch every over to the new frame and cut up the old on in about 6 hours. 3 of the hours we worked on we had no power and did it all by hand. We also put 2.5 inch lift spring on at that time.
OLD

NEW

Well it sat like that for about 2 months till i could find a tub for it. Got a YJ tub that was in bad shape. rear coners all messed up and driver side floor was gone. Need less to say was in real bad shape. But it was only 100 bucks and 2 1/2 hours away. Not going to complain for that price and the Drive. But well worth it.

Took a nother month to two to get the tub put together enoungh so i could mate it to the frame. ( weather suck balls and i had to work out side the whole time on the tub.

Well the day came the frist day we had a 60 degree day out my dad. and I throw the tub on the frame. and put a 2 inch body lift on it. was pritty cool to finlly see it look like a jeep again.

well a nothe few weeks when buy and i finnly got the stupied thing running again. and it look just like a real jeep and every thing. I wanted to get it to the mounds form the Opening day. And i did with a buget of 3000 I put to gether the Cheap Jeep.

I looks about the now except for the Fact I spun 2 bearings in the Iron Duke after droping 400 buck on the stuped motor. I said F-it and dropped 350 in to it. Man I am glad I found a Jeep the had a GM bolt pattern trans. Thing Is sweet now. I goting running and was spinning all 4 tires on dry pavment with a stock drive train. (I WILL NOT DO IT AGAIN).

I will post some pics of the motor later.

This is what it looks like as of right now. Just the motor is all back together un like in the pic

Don't toss the Iron duke just yet. they are good engines to have if you decide to rebuild it.
