Default 90 chevy k2500 cutting out need help

90 k2500 350 engine just put in a new motor everything is fine except sometime when i give it gas it cuts out or stalls doesn't die sure wants to mostly in higher gear 2 or 3 or when i rev it any help would be great thanks

I guess I have to ask why you replaced the engine? secondly how easy is it to amke the problem accure?

broke 2 connecting rods fairly easy seems worse when it warms up

did you adjust the valves on the new engine? if so they are to tight. I would guess you over tightened a couple and when it warms up its opening the valves up. if you do it again do it running, back off the nut till the rocker starts to "rattle" then tighten it down slowly till it quits then give it another 1/4 turn. do that on all 16 and you should be fine.

i adjusted them but not when it was running i usually do i dont know why i didnt will try that i hope that works thanks

well i thought i did but its doing something else now similar problem but only when i accelerate at certain rpms so i ran it on a computer says it has a bad throttle positioning sensor tried to change it and the bolt broke off in the housing one thing after another so i gues i will need a new tb now

well changed the throttle body and put on a new tps sensor idles diffarent but still has something wrong when you are at certain rpms it wants to cut out if you downshift it stops and it doesnt do it in low or first starts doing it in second around 2500 rpms

sounds like the same problem i had and it turned out to be the fuel system try the filter first then the pump and you can get the pump at advanced auto it is only about $65 also had the same prob on my astro van it was the pump sounds strange that it would act like this but mine did hope this helps you

I had a truck doing similar things ...... it was an O2 sensor, after I threw a crank sensor and TPS at it. Your 2500 should have 1 O2 sensor. Just a thought

i am going to test the fuel pressure and i think my o2 sensor may be bad the wire doesnt look the best didnt show up when i ran it on computer it showed the tps sensor but i changed that and engine light is still on

well tested the coil it showed bad starts and runs now still cuts out a little but not anywhere as bad as it was i am going to change the o2 sensor i hope that fixes it
