Default Remote Start Install?

I bought a bulldog remote start for my dad for x-mas. He has an 05 Grand Cherokee Limited (lease). I'm going to install it becuse the last time he did something like this (a radar detector) it went off everytime he made a left turn. How hard is it to install? Is it even worth it? I have some expirence with wiring KC lights. Thanks in advance.

remote start is nothing like wiring kc daylighters. Go to Bulldogsecurity.com and get a wiring schematic for your vehicle if you do not have one already. Does the vehicle have a grey key or black key? It really isn't that hard, but on this new of a vehicle, there may be several bypass modules that may have to be purchased and installed.

Ive heard that the skim module becomes an issue on the jeeps. You may want to look at how much it would be to have it professionally installed, however stay away from mickey shorr. Almost all of the work ive seen from there is shit!

Save yourself the huge headache!!!! I will promise you that you and your Dad will hate everything about that Bulldog remote start. In my experiance with remote starts (which is only about 5 years of installs) I have had at least a dozen cars towed into my shop because someone thought they could install one of these. A remote start is not something you want to attemt especially on an 05 Grand. Trust me on this one and take your Jeep to a well respected shop and make sure they solder and shrink tube all connections.

x2. i would take the bulldog back and then get on www.circuitcity.com and order a valet 561r for 59.99 plus tax. this brings you to a little more than you paid for the bulldog but valet is made by DEI which makes viper. they have it ready to pick up within 24 minute from purchas on line. if you have a greay key then you need the data bypass which takes two keys to program but you dont hide one under the dash and it also takes the pain out of the tricky door lock systems. pm me if you got questions. i put one on my moms 99 grand cherokee limited. i have done them for a few years until we closed our shop
