Make sure you know where NOT to stay.. 3 summers ago, we made a last minute decision to book a site up there.. We ended up in campground that had quiet hours at 9pm (and they enforced it) and little tiny fire pits that fit 1 log at a time.

The Hideaway is not all that nice of a campground. I've stayed there a couple of times. The State Park was a little nicer.....those are the only two I've stayed at there.

I think this summer, we will try the Jellystone Campground for the kids sake.

I'm thinking for DMJC's trip there this summer. Just thought I would plan ahead.
True Kelly, I don't think we will all be quiet by 9

The state campground is pretty good. We go every year several times, our biggest run being april 1st opening weekend. We've always stayed there. Dont have too many problems unless its way out of hand.

Hideaway has a pretty early quiet hour also....and they have rent a cops that enforce it.

I was sitting around a small fire one year, by myself as everyone passed out early. I think it was about 11:30-12....the guy walked up and told me it was time to go to bed. I looked up and said yes father......he didn't like that.

Yeah me and my friends want to reserve some spots for fourth of July and maybe two other weekends, is there any websites I can go to or does anybody know any phone numbers, and please, for our sake of not running from rent a cops, let me know which ones have the stiff rules

I know I know I know

I said stiff:tonka: :miff:

Time for bed...that's funny...I woulda stuffed him in the fire pit. Who gives a crap how long you stare at the fire as long as you are quiet...that's just dumb.

We have stayed at the state one and it was pretty nice, but that was a few years ago.

no matter what, if you are just camping, (nothing with a camper) than go to the state park, thats the nicest and closest campground to the dunes. me and my buddy found a really nice camping ground in hart called john gurney park, it's a short drive, but a very nice campground. if you want somewhere quiet, thats where to go, because they are pretty strict with their quiet hours (i think its either 11 or midnight) and hart police, along with the county sheriffs will roll through there once in a while (not too often tho, just when its packed)
