Snow Run Grayling Dec. 9th aka anti party run

Yes I know this is in conflict with the xmas party but that is the best time to have it. Low turn out means lots of fun and more trails. Snow should be a foot deep. Will be going at 10am sharp. Meeting at exit 251 in parking lot. Be ready for temps in the 20"s to 30. Be aired down and fueled.

well its not for lack of trying but I think you may find its harder to lure people out of their happy place when your taking snow. the idea of leaving a warm legion hall for the option of lieing under a broken Jeep in a foot of snow while wrenching with the finger tips cut off your gloves so you can feel the bolts because its to cold to feel your head without a parka & mikeymouse boots(hell just typing this is making me cold) as for myself I think I will opt for the legion at this point as I see no point in missing out on a huge party.

It has the makings for a long day/night but let me see, leave my house at 6:30am arrive at Charlies around 9:30. Wheel for a few hours and have lunch on the trail. Wheel for a few more hours Have dinner in town and warm up for a few. Leave Grayling around 5:00pm and drive to Waterford. Find a room within stumbling distance from the party, take a shower and get prepped to go. I think this could work for me, depending on the weather of course.

My Jeep was just hauled out for it's winter work. I'll be dealing with that and a Wagoneer motor swap that weekend.

Oh, and for all the naysayers, winter runs are great. Mudqueens Ice Run is too. Makes Michigan trails actually interesting.

I love winter runs...but my heater isn't done and my shocks haven't shown up yet, and i'm waiting for my driveshaft. I don't know if that will all be done by next weekend. We'll see.

Do you have to have a street legal vehicle? Should I leave the 54s on or should I pop on the 44s (car is 102" wide with 44s, ~96" wide with 54s) I could put on a "in transit" plate to make it sorta legal. All the lights and turn signals work so no problem there. Should I just stay home because I shouldn't take a mud bogger on the trails. My other option is my Tracker but thats more of a sand toy.

You can bring what ever you want. Won't need the big tires, like 54's because of over kill, but hey they look cool. And yes any vehical on state trails needs an SOS plate, except on ORV trails then just an orv sticker, but we only have about 10 miles of those trails for 55" and bigger vehicals.

Yes it looks like only 3 so far but a small turn out is what I want. Runs with over 10 rigs are a challenge at the least to handle.

And I really do hope everone has fun at the party and goes to the party, Please do not pick this run over the party.

i HAVE BEEN TO THE CHRISMAS PARTY ONCE AND LOVED IT, but its a long drive for me and I some times drink to much when with the downstate folks. Yes enough fun that takes a week or so to recover from. But god those parties are fun.

Seems my Grand has me so pissed at the moment i sat it out in the snow bank , i really dont see it being done by then . My attitude needs to adjust for a few days before i go back to work on it .

That and my wallet could use some recope time too

Perhaps i need a new hobby like this

Any vehical should be able to make it. Always a way around things and bet me that I will let you know that you can't make it. And yes it is fun watching you try, because most can't back down, even me. But if you have never driven on snow before offroad it is a little different. Easy stuff gets difficult and difficult things become unpassable. And I like to try the unpassable stuff. As long as my subconsious will let me, but some times it :miff: me from the other seat and lets me know who is really boss.

Whats you mean sissy. I almost proposed to that girl on her birthday, at least I asked if she had protection. Just because I didn't see the bar tender reveil body parts. Ya I guess that counts as a sissy. I will try better next time, I guess, if I have too.

Sounds like a great deal. However, both Kathy and I will be working and it is our son's 6th birthday. GoldenEagle would like to make it too, but he trying to recover from Turkey Day at the Mounds...Hoping to make it up sometime this winter, but we don't have a date yet.
