Default Neighborhood fights over peace wreath

I thought this was quite interesting.

From the Colorado brief in today's "Across the USA" roundup:

"Pagosa Springs -- A homeowners group says it will fine a resident $25 a day until she removes a Christmas wreath with a peace sign that has offended some other residents as an anti-Iraq war protest or a symbol of Satan, said Bob Kearns, president of the Loma Linda Homeowners Association in Pagosa Springs. Lisa Jensen said she's not taking it down until after Christmas."

The Durango Herald has a photograph of the wreath and more details from the neighborhood. Jensen tells the paper she doesn't intend the wreath to be an anti-Iraq war symbol.

Kearns, who fired a five-member neighborhood panel that refused to cite Jensen, gives his argument against the symbol: "The peace sign has a lot of negativity associated with it. It's also an anti-Christ sign. That's how it started." But the Herald finds a mixed origin for it.

Update at 10:45 a.m. ET, Nov. 28: The wreath will stay, no fine will be levied and Jensen says she's gotten an apology.

its the dumbest thing I have heard of.
maybe the association is all old people who have nothing better to do than devote their entire lives to the removal of a christmas wreath

What an incredible waste of time bitching over a wreath. I could understand if they had a big sign on the wall that says "Jesus Sucks", but a wreath??!!

hmm probably not sova. Its a very facist association ... why i would never live in such a subdivision i hate those places anyways every house looks the same same colors same trim same landscaping BLAH !

But you dont have to buy a house there, you sign away your basic rights like right to put up a fence, a pool, or paint your house a color that isnt on the association pallete of colors. Please just shoot me in the head.

Someone needs to slash the old bastard stalin-equse leader of the association.

I would burn a giant peace symbol into my lawn and carve one into my drive way.
