"To help more clearly define the difference between facts and politics, If
you consider that there has been an average of 160,000 troops in the Iraq
theatre of operations during the past 22 months, and a total of 2,112
combat related deaths, that gives a monthly firearm death rate of 60 per
100,000 soldiers.

The same firearm death rate in Washington D.C. is 80.6 per 100,000 for the
same period.

That means that you are about 25% more likely to be shot and killed in the
U.S. Capital, which has some of the strictest gun control laws in
the nation than you are in Iraq.

Conclusion: the U.S. should pull out of Washington."

But how many of the soldiers are severely wounded in iraq. I am not worried about being killed when I get sent there I am worried about getting my legs blown off and having to live like that the rest of my life. If i get killed there is no pain and suffering any more for me just my loved ones that would have to deal with me being killed over there. That's what I'm worried about.

my conclusion does not disagree with yours ... but my conclusion is they need carry laws and give up on the crazy gun control laws in DC. Funny that many of the same legislators that were calling for US to exit from iraq in a few months can go more than a decade with failed gun control policies and see no hurry to admit they failed, and that cities with carry laws are safe.
