Default Moving to Michigan.....

Hi, my name is Archie and it looks like my company is sending me to a project in Pontiac Michigan. I've been involved in the New England online wheeling community for 10 years or so and look forward to meeting you folks and getting some wheeling in. I wheel a 1978 CJ5 trail rig and my wife has an 04 Rubicon. Any advise on a good place to rent a house for a couple years?

oh, here is my rig

Moving to pontiac?

The nice housing within a 30 minute drive to work would be orion, lake orion, auburn hills, clarkston, waterford, and rochester areas!

There are a ton of wheelers around here, except there is no place to wheel within an hour.

Thanks everyone! From what I can tell from the co-workers that have already headed out there, I want to look north of Pontiac - I like living out in the rural towns more then 'the city' but thats not a deal breaker - I'm looking for a 3 bedroom house that accepts pets. The big thing that I don't know is how far away is 30min commute - like how is the drive from Oxford to Pontiac for example......

Welcome

Try getting ahold of XJ4Life on here.
They are moving, and with the housing market in this area, they might be better off renting then selling.

He's in Shelby Twp. 20-30 minutes East of Pontiac.

Oxford to pontiac is about 10 minutes.

Oxford isn't country living.. If you need country living, look into davisburg, holly, brandon or even fenton.

All within 35 minutes to pontiac

Ok, well I have found a rental house in Rochester Hills and looks like I'll be moved in around Feb 1st - the bad news is that the house has no room for my trail rig and trailer, so they will go into storage at my parents house for two years.... Looking forward to meeting up with some locals after I get settled.
