Since I've got to make this rig last a few more years, I've decided to give it a little TLC and massage it with the cutoff wheel.

Finally going to put in some rockers and clean up the rear fenderwells, which will later be tied into the rear bumper and ditch the notoriously damaged tail lights for some smaller replaceable units.

Also adding a "C" pillar and stiffing up the cage some. Trying to keep the mangled mess of what still resembles a Cherokee from making the cabin any smaller.

BEFORE: (well, after cutting to get ideas)

You can see in this pic that the seat is the only thing stopping the rocker from coming in anymore.

I miss my tars.

The hallmark quote of the truly hardcore. Uses the cutoff wheel on the vehicle to seek inspiration.

I'll say it again: Baddest XJ. Evar.

Finally got my new H1's done today. Hopefully by the end of tomorrow I'll have some "after" pics of the latest change.

Welding anywhere on the body on an XJ sucks! That shit is thin and nasty.

.........and this is suppose to make it on a trailer Thurs. morning for KY.

added C-pillar, rear "flare", rockers and steps ... I removed a lot of rusted sheet metal. Thanks Ridin Dirty for the help and hosejockey for making a couple bends for me!

Finish bracing everything, install rocklights, fix hydraulic ram mount and install 35spl stubs tomorrow and she'll be ready to go.

You're saying it looks done? Geez Dale, I hope that's not the finished product you are aspiring to.
