5 links are good, 4 links are sweet, 3 links are cool too, but you're just a model of efficiency.

Evilmudder, go to pirate4x4 and search "radius arms". Read for 4 hours, scroll through pictures, then come back and look at this thread again. Then remove foot from mouth, brush teeth, and hit the sack.

I couldn't have said it better ... wasn't really trying either.

More stuff:

Short arms are being ditched finally in favor of a custom designed crossmember (by cyrus) , longarms and frame stiffeners from hdoffroadengineering. With time constraints, it was a lot easier to get the stiffeners pre-bent and drilled then it was to box it in.

Haven't started yet, but should be done for Sept 13th at OSTC.

Yes, I've had the x-member since June.

when are you going to ditch this thing and build something with a frame? lower it about 4" while you're at it too.

When my pockets are deep as yours and your dads.

kidding ... this winter I'm going to waste more time on this thing, ditch the cab, tube it and strengthen it more where it needs to be.

I had thought about lowering it, but for what it is, it doesn't sit or sits just as high as most full bodied wranglers on 39-42's. Then once the front 60 is in (spring/summer) I'll still have room for new rubber ... 42" Iroks of course. Then I'll start to address the rear suspension, but for now it works well.

In design/engineering it does have some similarities, but is very different and still and from what I understand, it is still "on trial." I'll be changing mine a bit to add a couple inches to the lower arms and I'll be setting up a radius arm style instead of 4 link, which this has mounting tabs for.

Just started tonight, w/ a wedding tomorrow and a club meeting on Sun, I'm still planning on driving it to work Tues or Wed ... it will not be getting anymore red paint until after OSTC. (It needs a good bath, a coat of wax and armor all. )

Update on behalf of silverxj. So I stop over about 6:30 last night to see how well he's coming. (and to show him a real jeep) I knock on the door & no answer. The dogs are barking. I walk back to see if he's in the barn & it's locked. So I start to walk back & he comes dragging ass out of the house putting on his clothes. He tells me he was upstairs "napping". Yeah right.

So, we go out to the barn & it looks just like the pics from last week. And he's trying to tell me he'll be driving it Wed/Thur.

Not if he keeps wasting his time playing hanky panky.
